Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) Giving Guide

What is CITC?

The Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) is a program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that encourages philanthropic investment in high-impact community development organizations like ACEDONE.

Through CITC, donors who contribute $1,000 or more receive a 50% state tax credit, all while fueling ACEDONE’s mission to advance affordable housing, small business development, youth empowerment, and health equity for immigrant and refugee families across Greater Boston.

How It Works:

50% State Tax Credit – For every $1,000 donated, you receive a $500 Massachusetts state tax credit.

Refundable Benefit – If you do not owe state income tax, the credit is refundable, meaning the state will pay you directly.

Federal Deduction – Donations may also qualify for a federal charitable tax deduction, further increasing your impact.

Example:

A $5,000 donation = $2,500 Massachusetts tax credit + potential federal deduction.

Why Give Through CITC?

Your contribution provides double impact:

Community Impact – Invest directly in affordable housing, immigrant-owned businesses, after-school programs, and wellness initiatives.

Personal Benefit – Receive substantial tax savings while fueling transformative change in your community.

Your Gift in Action:

Donations through CITC enable ACEDONE to:

Develop and preserve affordable housing that prevents displacement.

Expand small business lending and technical assistance for immigrant entrepreneurs.

Empower youth through after-school and leadership programs.

Advance health equity and wellness through culturally responsive services.
