MASSACHUSETTS COMMUNITY INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT
Give $1,000.
It costs you $500.
Through the Massachusetts CITC program, your gift to ACEDONE earns you a 50% state tax credit — refundable even if you owe no state tax. Every dollar fuels affordable housing, immigrant-owned small businesses, youth programs, and health equity for immigrants and families across Greater Boston.
50%
Tax credit on your total gift, taken the same year you give
Refundable
If you owe no state income tax, the state pays you directly
+ Federal
Your gift may also qualify for a federal charitable deduction
$1,000
Minimum qualifying gift per donor, per year
Example: a $5,000 donation earns a $2,500 Massachusetts tax credit, plus a potential federal charitable deduction on top.

QUESTIONS
Before you give
-
No. Out-of-state donors qualify too — you'll file a Massachusetts nonresident return to receive your credit as a refund check rather than a credit against tax owed.
-
The credit is fully refundable. If your credit exceeds what you owe, the Commonwealth sends you a check for the difference
-
Yes, and there's no upper limit on our end — you'll receive the 50% credit on the full amount, subject to our available allocation. Multiple gifts in a year are also fine; each is processed and certified separately.
-
Yes. Let us know when you give and we'll earmark your donation accordingly — it still qualifies for the full CITC credit.
-
Some DAF sponsors participate and some don't. Contact us before initiating a DAF gift so we can confirm your sponsor is set up for CITC.
-
Yes, in addition to the state credit, your gift remains eligible for a federal charitable deduction if you itemize. Talk to your tax advisor about your specific situation.
